Dear Reader,
That leftover Halloween candy won't last forever, so be sure to enter the November Chocolate Chip Cookie Giveaway. I love to bake, and even more, I love to give away cookies. The Chocolate Chip giveaway has been a book club tradition since 2000. If you've never won, now's the time to enter. I'm ready to bake, are you ready to "dunk" and munch? My husband and I work together every day. He's an integral part of the book clubs. Frequently he travels with me when I'm going to business appointments. He doesn't actually go to the appointment with me, he prefers to be a behind-the-scenes guy. But whenever introductions are necessary, he jokingly says that he's my "road crew." Actually that's a good description of what he is, except that I don't think most people would give that title the importance that it deserves. I know better.
The road crew are the people that set everything up, attending to details so that when the event happens or the performance takes place, it looks almost effortless. They make other people look good, and that's exactly what my husband does for me.
His intelligence was one of the things that attracted me to him when we first met. He's well-read, always a wealth of information and ideas--and fortunately, he shares them all with me.
He tutors me before every appointment, filling me in on interesting little tidbits that he thinks I might need to know about the company I'm calling on. When I rehearse my material with him, he critiques it and gives me inspiring creative ideas, so by the time I get to my appointment, I'm looking and sounding really smooth. I get the sale, I get the praise, but without my "road crew" it just wouldn't happen.
Thanks for reading with me. It's so good to read with friends.
