Dear Reader,
Last week, after returning from evacuating for hurricane Ian, I needed to clean up my office and my desk. I actually enjoy cleaning my house, however, I never look forward to organizing the stacks of stuff piled high on my desk. But this time I got a pleasant surprise. I found some old notes that I'd written to myself and some interesting "stuff" that I never even knew I had. My old notes, written on scraps of paper and old take-out menus, were particularly precious to me. Rereading each piece of paper, I recalled where I was at the time that I'd written it--notes written on a plane, in a hotel room, notes to myself when I was pretty miserable and feeling like a big loser, and notes written when I was thrilled.
Some of the things I'd written embarrassed me, and I sure was glad that I was the one who found them and not someone else. One story I'd written made me cry, and a couple of things that I'd written actually impressed me, "Wow, did I write that?"
Mom always told me I'd feel really good after I'd cleaned up my "space", and now I finally believe her.
Thanks for reading with me. It's so good to read with friends.
