Dear Reader,
My sincerest apologies to everyone who has been trying to enter this month’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Giveaway. Due to some unexpected continuing outages in our area, the giveaway form has not been available. No worries, we will try again next week. Rest assured, if you have already entered the contest, I have your entry, but you can enter again next week as well.
In the “old days” before digital coupons, this is what usually happened to me: I’d clip the coupons, and put them in my purse with good intentions--but that's where they stayed until the next time I cleaned out my handbag. When I rediscovered those pesky little irritants, the expiration date had passed by, so I tossed them out and chastised myself for forgetting they were there. Especially since one of the coupons I found one week was for the same kind of shaving cream that I just purchased last week (when the coupon was still good--and I could have saved two bucks).
Coupons and I used to have a 'show-down' once a year, usually around the holidays because the newspapers were loaded with them. I’d pour a big cup of coffee, get out my scissors and start clipping. And then immediately I headed to the grocery store. This was the day I was going to experience the thrill of seeing 'total coupon savings' on the bottom of my cash register receipt. And there it was: my total coupon savings was $10.47. Hey, this was kind of fun. But admittedly it was very time consuming, so I didn’t even bother clipping coupons anymore.
Digital coupons! I was so excited, but after scrolling and scrolling through the grocery store’s digital coupons, desperately searching for one I might be able to use--I’ve officially given up on coupons.
Thanks for reading with me. It's so good to read with friends.
