Dear Reader,
A reader emailed the other day telling me she loved reading my "Dear Reader" but that, "it must be difficult to write five columns every week."
The tough part isn't really writing every day. I enjoy It. The difficult part of my job is trying to remember if I've written about something before. I try not to repeat myself, but then again, life does eventually repeat itself, doesn’t it?
Frequently I search through past columns looking to see if I’ve written about a specific topic before. Or maybe I just told the story to someone when I was chatting with them. You can see my dilemma.
When I first started writing a daily column, I thought I might run out of ideas to write about. But thankfully I'm a strange, different sort of person, whose life is never dull. Actually, writing the daily column gives me a built-in excuse to do a lot of weird stuff, because I can always justify it by saying, "Well, I have to try it…it will probably make an interesting 'Dear Reader.'"
Thank you for reading with me. It's so good to read with friends.
