Dear Reader,
Book club reader Sue M., puts the finishing touches on Wednesday's column about feeling like life had "run off the rails" and staying on track with my "assignment" in life.
Sue M., writes...
"Dear Suzanne, another perfect and relevant column. It wasn't 'life off the rails' for me, a leaden feeling of being overwhelmed by 'all there is to do.' And I am retired, my children grown, I am happily married, right now I have enough money to live on and I am basically healthy.
So what is it exactly that is 'overwhelming' me. Maybe a better rephrasing is what is exactly overwhelming TO me? It is it stuff that really matters or will life go on if it doesn't get done?
There is a Zen saying that reminds me of your 'do your assignment' concept:
* Do one thing at a time.
* Do it well. Finish it.
* Take a break between these things.
Rinse and repeat. (That's not a part of the Zen approach.)
Thanks again for writing your columns, and sharing the books." -- Sue M.
I love your "rinse and repeat" cycle in life. Sounds like the perfect way to periodically get a fresh start.
Thanks for reading with me. It's so good to read with friends.
