Dear Reader,
"I love your skirt. Where did you get it?"
"The Valentine card you sent me was so cute!"
I appreciated the compliments, especially since they gave me the opportunity to smile and say, "I made it myself!"
Homemade, it's my first choice, so I was pleasantly surprised when I checked a book out from the library, and discovered a homemade bookmark in the middle of it.
There wasn't anything special about the bookmark, but it's the most functional one I've ever used. And good news, anyone can make one. You don't need any artistic talent. Simply tear off a corner of an envelope, and slide it on the corner of the page you want to mark in your book. If you want to add a little artistic flair, use a postmarked envelope with a canceled stamp on it.
It's just a simple little thing, but from now on it's my standard bookmark. To see a photo, go to: http://www.emailbookclub.com/photo/bookmark-013016.html You'll also find photos of smiling, recent giveaway winners. Be sure to enter my giveaways. They're fun and someone always--it might as well be you.
Thanks for reading with me. It's so good to read with friends.

AUTHORBUZZ: THE SISTERS OF VERSAILLES (Fiction) by Sally Christie
Sometimes fact is stranger than fiction! My new novel tells the true story of four--yes, four--sisters who all became mistresses to King Louis XV of France. Set in the opulence of Versailles in the early 18th century, the Nesle sisters' story is a complex exploration of power and sisterhood--of the admiration, competition, and even hatred that can coexist within a family when the stakes are high enough.
