Dear Reader,
Bubbles! Bubbles! And more bubbly emails in my inbox. One even inspired me to give away a bubble machine to a book club reader today. Be sure to enter the giveaway. Thanks for writing. Reading your emails is the best part of my day.
"Suzanne, Just wanted to tell you how much I look forward to reading what you write each day. I have read with you for years, and I often like the book selections, but I always enjoy your part! I loved your book (and am hoping for another one :). You are so honest and I feel I've gotten to know you :). Mostly--you have one of the hugest hearts I have ever known! You are a true example of 'those who bring joy to others can't help but bring it to themselves.' Thank you for bringing a daily dose of joy to your readers' lives!"--Allison E.
"Good morning Suzanne! I know what you mean about the bubbles! I still haven't purchased a bubble machine. But my grandkids and I LOVE blowing bubbles. We sit in the back yard, each of us with our own bubble wand and bubbles, and blow and blow! We chase the bubbles and dance through them. The 3-year-old even tries to catch them on her tongue like snowflakes! (Eww) Thanks so much for the time and love you put into your column. It always makes me smile. (Even when it doesn't mention the bubbles!)"--Brenda M.
"Once again, your column brought a smile to my face. I love bubbles and always have some handy to share. We've even included blowing bubbles at the library as part of our Summer Reading Program. Last year we ended our program with a visit from The Bubble Bus. Thank you for sharing your life with us each day."--Elaine S., Director Morrison-Talbott Library
"I just read your column for today and thought that my mom could use a little more joy in her life right now. She lives in an assisted living apartment and it has been so hot here in Oklahoma that people are getting a little testy. So, it occurred to me that I could get her a small battery operated bubble machine that would send some bubbles off of her third story balcony and spread a little joy. If that works, maybe we will add music next year.
So, my question for you, what would you recommend as the perfect bubble machine for her needs? It has to be small because the balcony is very tiny and I want to make sure the surface doesn't get slippery because she can't risk falling so it can't be leaky. Any info you can provide will be appreciated. As always, thanks for spreading your sunshine!"--Vickie
(Suzanne replies:) Great idea for your mom. She'll be the hit of the assisted living center. You wouldn't think it would be so difficult to find a good bubble machine, but it is. My best recommendation is to use an electric one, but if you need one that runs on batteries, I would suggest trying the Gazillion Bubble Hurricane Machine, and it's the bubble machine I'm giving away today. You've inspired me.
