Dear Reader,
It was out of the blue, and I was speechless after I finished reading the email in my inbox.
"Hi Suzanne,
I don't know if you remember me or not, I worked for you 100 years ago, but quit when I had a mental breakdown of sorts. You helped me so much then. I just ran across your name and didn't know if I'd ever properly thanked you. It was a really awful time for me mentally, when I stopped working for you, and you helped me get through that period by setting me up with a therapist. I'm finally in a place where I can thank you from the bottom of my heart, for all that you did for me.
Since then I had another baby and we moved to Pennsylvania, then Tennessee and now we're back in the Philly area. Our kids have grown, my daughter is in college, doing great despite being recently diagnosed with Lupus; our middle son, is a Senior in high school and preparing for a military career; and our youngest is in 7th grade. My husband and I are still good, busy though. I stay home (especially since we just moved back to Philly), to keep the boys in line and run them everywhere they need to be--I'm like American Express!
What has been going on with you besides writing a book and doing Dear Reader book club?
Thanks again for everything you did, I wanted you to know that there's someone VERY grateful for you in Philadelphia!"
Fondly,
--M
What an amazing email. Reading it inspired me to think back about the people who've made a difference in my life, wondering, did I get a chance to thank them? If you have someone you'd like the opportunity to say thank you to, I'd love to hear your story.
Thanks for reading with me. It's so good to read with friends.
Warmest regards,
Suzanne Beecher
