AUTHORBUZZ: Discover new books, "meet" the authors and enter to win: Goto: http://authorbuzz.com/dearreader
Dear Reader,
I am visiting my granddaughter and attending her high school graduation this week, so I am happy to introduce Jill Mansell to the book clubs.
Jill Mansell, who lives with her family in the UK, worked for many years in a neurological research hospital and dreamed of becoming a published author. To date, she has had 25 books published and over seven million copies sold worldwide. (Obviously dreams do still come true!) Ms. Mansell writes all her books by hand, has to have the TV on while she's working and gets through very many snacks during the course of the day.
This multi-tasking author is waiting to hear from you. Jill has three copies of Thinking of You to give away to lucky book club readers. Email: [email protected]
You're on, Jill. Take it away...
When the writing isn't going too well, I have two favourite places to go, via my iPad--I'll either chat to fellow authors on Twitter or set out on yet another online painting-hunt. I adore art and artists and envy them their skills. I search endlessly for new favourite artists. And a few months ago--via a friend on Twitter--I fell completely in love with the work of someone who turned out to live in my own home town and creates wonderfully quirky paintings of people and their surroundings...so it would have been rude not to ask her to paint...ME!!!
Talk about serendipity. Rose Popay, the artist, is a fantastic lady who came to my house, did lots of lightning sketches and took a zillion photos. She then went away and magically created the scene below--it took her a few weeks because she has a mischievous toddler to entertain. When I saw the finished (and very large) painting I almost cried, it was so perfect in every way. This is our living room, that's me on the sofa, writing my books by hand, and that's my daughter sitting at the table typing my manuscript into her computer. (And yes, that's our bear in the fireplace. He's not real, but he's definitely part of the family.) Even the painting of the painting is there on the wall, complete with all the tiniest details--how clever is that?
I love my present to myself more than words can say. It's the very best thing I've ever bought. I also like to think it inspires me to write, because now I'm planning to ask Rose to create another painting of a different part of our house...and I need to sell the books to pay for it.

Thanks for reading with me. It's so good to read with friends.
Warm regards,
