Dear Reader,
Is there an undiscovered gem sitting on your shelf, or tucked away in your memory, as a favorite book you discovered at your local library?
One book a week, 52 weeks in a year, I can only offer a limited number of titles at the book club. So I thought it would be fun if I featured a week of "Undiscovered Library Gems" in each of the genres at the book club.
Is there a book that most folks might not know about, but when you read it, it made a difference in your life? I need your help to put together the line-up of books. Please email the title(s) of your Undiscovered Gem, along with the name of the library where you discovered it.
Send your suggested titles to: Suzanne@Emailbookclub.com
Thanks for your help and thanks for reading with me. It's so good to read with friends.
Gratefully,
Suzanne Beecher

My undiscovered gem is Catherine Lloyd Burns's "It Hit Me Like a Ton of Bricks: A Memoir of a Mother and Daughter." Oh, how I love this book!

"The Christmas Quilt" by Jennifer Chiaverini, an Elm Creek Quilts novel.
I picked this up last week thinking it was a murder mystery series I hadn't seen before. No murders, but an engrossing story of an older woman & a younger one brought together by a love of quilting. And skillfully woven into the story are insistent reminders of the importance of reconciliation with family & friends, before it is too late for anything but regrets.

I'm not sure if many people have read "Prodigal Summer" by Barbara Kingsolver. I enjoyed the story and the ecological theme very much!
