Good stuff happens in the bathroom.
If I'm having trouble writing, I grab my laptop and get comfy on the big, white, fluffy rug on my bathroom floor. A wedding dress, a big old claw-footed tub, flowers, and paintings on the wall are the perfect ornamentation for my historical home's bathroom, and the perfect inspiration for this writer. Three of the chapters in my book Muffins and Mayhem: Recipes for a Happy (if disorderly) Life were written in my bathroom, which could be one of the reasons book club reader Bernadine Baggenenstos, sent me this email:
"Suzanne, my godmother (Bernadine) is 88. She fell and broke her hip on Thanksgiving. I can't be there as I live in Louisiana, so I sent her a copy of your book.
