Dear Reader,
Sometimes it's an archeological dig inside of myself to find happiness. The skirt I bought the other day made me very happy, especially when I wore it to the neighbor's potluck dinner and people gave me compliments. "What a cute skirt. Where did you find it?" But the kind of happiness that stays with my soul--that kind of happiness comes from within. Doesn't matter what I'm wearing, or what my surroundings or situation might be, true happiness is a choice that can walk with me every moment, even in the midst of grief.
Happiness and grieving are connected. Learn how to do one well, because the other will surely follow. I have been doing some grieving lately because of the fire my family experienced, but in the midst of my grief is the happiness I seek. Happy and sad, two emotions that set the course for my life and influence the people around me. Can I be a hero for myself? Choose to spend more of my life feeling joy? Without a doubt, I'd do it for the sake of my husband, children and grandchildren. Why not do it for me?
Thanks for reading with me. It's so good to read with friends.
