Book club reader Cindy recommends the Candy Cane Cookie Recipe...
Thanks for the recipe! I made the Candy Cane Cookies last night--well, I actually started them last night, then finished baking them this morning. It's like playdoh for adults. My three year old daughter, Faith, just loves them! I've never let her eat so many cookies in one day before. My husband also thinks they taste very good. I think I'll start making these every Christmas now. Hope you like the picture of Faith and myself and some of my results.--Cindy

From Wednesday's Winners:
"My New Year's Resolution will be the same as last years...to go through my filing cabinets and get everything in order. This would not be so difficult but I have asked my husband for several years to help me. He always says yes but can always find a more pressing home improvement project! Maybe in 2009, it will be the most pressing project. It is truly good to read with you each morning."--Teresa Klein
"My resolution is to slow down and enjoy the moment I am in. I spend a lot of wasted time on what has already happened and I miss what is now. My best friend has polycystic liver disease and is facing a liver transplant to save her life. That has made me realize how limited our time is and I want to enjoy every minute of it now!"--Vickie Garrett
"My New Year's resolution is to become better organized so I can be the best Mom I can be. My kids are small and depend on me to be their blackberry and I have failed miserably for five years. I am not sure how to start this new success, but hope I can. I work in an office and can't seem to manage to keep an on-going schedule of my kid's activities. Merry Christmas to you, Suzanne. You are living your dream and having fun while doing it. I am not at this point in my life, but hope one day I wake up and say that is what I want to do. I am still dreaming and waiting."--Jennifer Jones
"I've learned a New Year's Resolution which I intend to make for 2009 and everyday following. My husband was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer over a year ago. He has faced this diagnosis and his treatment with such a positive spirit and with a powerful determination. For him, I resolve to savor each day, to delight in the little things, to let those I love know how much they mean to me."--Joyce Steenbergen
Thanks for reading with me. It's so good to read with friends.
