I grew up in Sarasota since I was 2, and lived there until my 24th birthday. Moving away from there was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made and I miss the sights, sounds, smells, and pleasures of that city. I still visit couple times a year, and am homesick everyday. I have had the same experiance as you on the Sunshine Skyway, and seeing the compassion people recieve and give makes me smile also.

I have heard about the car in front of you paying your toll. It hasn't happened to me, but it sounds as powerful as lending a smile to a stranger. The other a day an elderly woman bought my daughter a squishy toy at Walgreens while we were waiting in line to check out. She insisted on buying it for her. Naturally, I told her it really wasn't necessary, but then she told me about how she missed her grandchildren who lived out of state. I knew that it was more important to her then it was my daughter. I personally was moved by this kind gesture and I wanted to give her hug and cook her nice meal. I could tell that she was lonely, but sadly she went on her way leaving my daughter and I with smiles on our faces. It is amazing how the smallest gestures in life can be so uplifting. I hope that somehow my daughter left her feeling the same way.
