Dear Reader,
On March 21st, I accepted the challenge--The Quilting Challenge! I'd written a column two days before, about pieces of a quilt that had been sitting in my hall closet for over a year.
If you missed the column, here's the link: http://dearreader.typepad.com/dear/2006/03/dear_reader_col_14.html
Gwenette, a book club reader, also had unfinished "business" sitting in her closet. So she challenged me: "Finish your quilt by May 31st, Suzanne, and I'll finish my project, too."
I accepted Gwenette's challenge and I'm happy to report I made the deadline, and I know that Gwenette finished her afghan project, too.
Finishing my quilt was a struggle. I've made a lot of them, but this one had a mind of its own---and it just about drove my mind crazy---until my husband stepped in at the last minute and helped get the border straight. What a guy!

Thanks for reading with me. It's so good to read with friends.
