Dear Reader,
Congratulations to Jessica Larson, this month's Chocolate Chip Cookie winner. I baked two dozen of my famous cookies and shipped them to her, so she should be "dunking" and eating cookies all week long.
Jessica said she needed cookies to help her find a husband and I think her approach just might work. Chocolate chip cookies can tell you a lot about a person and I want to make sure she finds a nice guy.
I always take along a bag of my chocolate chip cookies when I go on a business appointment. After the hellos and everyone's settled in for the meeting, I pull out my bag of cookies and I can always tell by the reactions, what kind of a meeting it's going to be.
Business executives, even the big-wigs, dressed to impress in shirts, ties, and shining shoes, melt when they see my cookies. "I haven't had homemade chocolate chip cookies since I was in my grandma's kitchen," they reminisce. One, two, three cookies, they're not shy about digging in and they keep the bag close by.
On the other hand, if I offer someone a chocolate chip cookie and they turn me down, look out--it's gonna be a tough meeting. It's only happened twice and the cookies were right. The meetings were disasters.
Every month this year I'm baking cookies for a reader. Be sure to enter May's Chocolate Chip Giveaway. I'll announce it later this month.
Jessica's winning cookie entry:
"Suzanne--I need 2 dozen cookies, with the recipe, for the reason of finding my true love. Every time I make my mom's famous Oatmeal Scotchies, I have guys talking to me more, and one older man said that if I made them for the right guy, I'd be married soon, no question. Well, that recipe is great, but hasn't done the trick. Never the right guy--what can I say? A girl's gotta have her standards.
Maybe I just need a new recipe, a better one. Everyone knows you win a guy through his stomach. Maybe my future husband just doesn't like butterscotch? It must mean he likes chocolate chip. Bless you for offering this chance to finally catch that elusive Mr. Right."--Jessica Larson/Oregon
Thanks for reading with me. It's so good to read with friends.
Warmest regards,
