"Things I love and I hope you do, too," was the theme for the gifts I gave to friends this past holiday season. It was such a hit, I think I'm going to take the same approach for friends' birthdays this year, too.
Most of my friends are hard to buy for (me included), so I made a list of my "go-to" comfort things: aprons, warm pink, purple, yellow and apricot cozy house socks, my cookie scoop, the orange and white kitchen towels and dishcloths I'd recently bought to replace my old ratty ones, chocolate, and of course a bottle of bubbles. Then I put my favorites in a box with tissue paper and tied it all up with a bow. The "Oh, I love your gift!" replies I heard from my friends have inspired me to give "Things I love and hope you do, too," gifts away at the book club today.
So here we go..."Things I love, my homemade chocolate chip cookies (delivered to your door), vintage aprons, and Penguin tote bags (you can sign up to win one when you read today's featured Penguin Classic. They're all things I love, and I think you will, too. So be sure to enter the drawing, because book club readers are going to win, and you might as well be on that list.
Every other month I feature a Penguin Classic. This month's selection is The Story of Hong Gildong. Read the sample now and be sure to enter to win a Penguin tote bag. Every time I use my Penguin bag, someone asks me where I got it. Everybody loves the Penguin. Read now and enter-to-win for your chance to win a Penguin tote bag.
* Congratulations to the winners of Victoria and Albert: A Royal Love Affair by Daisy Goodwin and Sara Sheridan: Jo F. and Janet D.
