Dear Reader,

It was a delightful day yesterday. I invited four strangers to lunch, "Come on in and sit right down at my dining room table. Lunch is served." They couldn't have been happier and neither could I. It was just what I needed.

The hardworking tree trimmers had been busy in my yard all morning long. I'd "cookied" them when they first arrived with a bag of my homemade chocolate chip cookies, and when it got to be quarter to twelve, I suggested they stay for lunch. I sent my husband to the bakery for a fresh loaf of bread and then to Starbucks for coffee beans, while I heated up the big pot of homemade spaghetti sauce I'd made the day before, and served it with corn and a tossed salad.

It's funny how life brings me exactly what I need sometimes. The past couple of days I'd lost my way. Instead of noticing the joy in life, like I usually do, all I could see was the misery. Yesterday I was still having trouble finding my way and then four hungry tree trimmers showed up. What a delight to cook for them. They thanked me for my hospitality and I thanked them for helping me reclaim my joy!

What great smiles--to see me and my lunch guests, go to: http://tinyurl.com/57c3fp

Thanks for reading with me. It's so good to read with friends.
